How I Got Started

2020 marks the 10th year that I have been writing this column. It’s been so fun meeting readers as I’m out an about, answering questions, sharing my experiences and hopefully helping you in your kitchen, bath or design journey. I thought I would take this opportunity to reintroduce myself and tell you a little bit about my experience and how I got started in this wild world of design.

It all began when I was a young girl, my dad, Dan, purchased a cabinet shop, Floyd Cabinets, and I would help out by sweeping or sanding, cleaning the office or putting together drawer boxes. Growing up, I also helped my parents when they built or remodeled several personal homes and rental properties. After I decided not to pursue a college degree, I turned my part time work at our family business, The Cabinet Man, into full time work. In 2011, The Cabinet Man merged with Coleman Cabinets to form Webber Coleman Woodworks. I, with the help of a design assistant, handle all of the design and marketing. I thrive on creating unique designs, satisfying the client, managing a seamless project, staying on or ahead of schedule and creating lasting relationships.

In 2005, I formed Webber Development and Construction with my dad, Dan. We provide turnkey remodeling services, specializing in kitchens and baths, geared towards the specific needs of each family and lifestyle in the Athens and Watkinsville areas. Our commitment to excellence on every jobsite is portrayed through cleanliness, attention to detail and frequent communication. We have long standing relationships with the subcontractors we partner with which helps ensure a timely and cohesive project. Our goal is to deliver an exceptional experience to every client every time.

When not working, I can be found playing tennis, traveling and cooking. I have two self-proclaimed black thumbs, so you won’t find me in the garden and I swore off of crafts about 5 years ago. I’m a Type 3 on the Enneagram and enjoy walking outside with friends as we catch up. Intentionality, creativity, growth and giving back are high core values for me. I love hearing your stories and design challenges, so please say hi if you see me out! Questions? Send me an email at jessica@webbercoleman.com.
