KBIS & IBS Recap

I recently attended the Kitchen & Bath Show(KBIS) and the International Builder Shower (IBS)-also known as Design & Construction Week-in Las Vegas. It was a fast and furious 3 days of seeing new products, talking with vendors and walking 8 miles a day throughout the huge convention center.

This show is a collaboration between KBIS, North America’s largest trade show dedicated to all aspects of kitchen and bath design and over 600 leading brands and IBS, brings together more than 1,500 top manufacturers and suppliers from around the globe showcasing the latest and most in-demand products and services in the home building and remodeling business.

Some exciting products and items I saw are:

  1. Lighted bath mirrors-a myriad of different shapes, with medicine cabinets, tv screens embedded in the mirror-look to see these coming to a neighbor’s house near you.

  2. Matte Black-in sinks, tubs, appliances, faucets and cabinet hardware. This is not necessarily a new trend, but definitely more prevalent with many more beautiful options available.

  3. Fireplaces-electric flames or gas logs, the many shapes and varieties to fit any space and style is huge.

  4. Smart-door knobs, appliances, light fixtures, faucets-you name it-everything can be controlled by an app to make your life easier…or more complicated.

  5. High Style-nothing is utilitarian only anymore. Everything has to have style-high style. Designers and homeowners are all demanding it.

This show is always a great source of inspiration and refreshment for me. I look forward to incorporating what I saw and learned in my upcoming work. Questions? Email me at Jessica@webbercoleman.com
